Brecon Beacons 1 Day Expedition - Mixed Gender Adults

Summit South Wales' biggest mountain, Pen-Y-Fan, in a day, returning to the comfort of your own bed at night. Travel, planning, food, and guide are all included.

7am – 9pm
Selected Dates

It's big, it's impressive and it's beautiful. Come with us and climb the highest peak in South Wales and Southern Britain. Pen-Y-Fan translates as 'top spot' or 'top peak' and it certainly lives up to its name. Up here, the skies are big and the landscape sweeps before you, down into glacial valleys where red kites soar below. Our qualified mountain leaders will guide you, sharing stories and knowledge of mountain geology and flora along the way.

Starting at Path Hill, a minibus will transport you (2.5hrs – 3hrs) to the starting point at Neuadd car park. With fresh legs, we will gain height as we ascend the “Beacons Way” path, with the mountains rising dramatically before us. After approx. 3hrs we will reach the summit of Pen-Y-Fan and appreciate the magnificent view that a height of 886m gives you, and take those all-important snaps.

The route then descends down the “Graig Fan Ddu” path with the glacier valley dropping sharply away to your left (5hrs – 6hrs hiking in total). On arrival back at the car park, you will be greeted by a well-earned glass of bubbly and a hearty hot meal.

Get those boots off, stretch, and be driven back (2.5hrs – 3hrs) to Path Hill smiling all the way, having had an amazing day with time to plan your next mountain adventure.
